Ronald McDonald House - There are three Ronald McDonald Houses near local hospitals that house families of children who have long care hospital needs. These families stay at these houses for little or no cost to them. To help keep the cost down groups from around the area go and prepare a home-style hot meal for these families. We are on a rotation schedule to go cook for these families. We also sit and listen and provide comfort for these families in their time of uncertainty. For more information about the Ronald McDonald House go to http://rmhc.org/.
Our Evangelism Committee has several events throughout the year that benefit different nonprofit organizations/charities in the St. Charles and St. Louis area. Currently events will benefit Autism Speaks, Emmaus Homes, HOPE (formerly Evangelical Childrens Home), and the Alzheimer's Association.
Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM) Basic Support and Special Support provide funding for the work of the UCC Conference and National ministries in support of the life and work of the local church and its members. OCWM changes lives by strengthening our ecumenical relationships and global partnerships, by imagining and embodying a better world through prophetic witness and work, and by providing resources and programs to nurture the vitality of our United Church of Christ congregations.
One Great Hour of Sharing, as part of Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM), is one of the four special mission offerings of the United Church of Christ. Working in more than 80 countries, the offering provides hope to people in these countries. Neighbors in Need, is a special mission offering of the UCC that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States and around the world. One-third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry(CAIM). Two-thirds of the offering is used by the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries(JWM) to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects.
